Broken, but looking good
Yesterday, I installed Fedora Core 2 on my main workstation. Since then:
- I can’t use my external backup drive, because Firewire support is broken in the kernel,
- X locks when I use my Wacom tablet,
- I had to switch keyboards, because you can’t use a USB keyboard together with a PS2 mouse, and
- I can’t drop MySQL databases anymore
The install was extremely easy and everything looks very, very good. I really love the Bluecurve theme. IMHO Windows XP looks like some child dropped her box of crayons on your desktop, while OS X always makes me think of those thick-rimmed-black-framed-glasses-wearing designer types. Bluecurve is friendly and professional, gets out of your way when you have work to do, but still gives you something cool and slick to look at when your eyes wander off.
