Caféine and Barcelóna

The best coffee I’ve had in Amsterdam so far is served at Caféine, a very small shop at the Korte Lijnbaanssteeg 1. Highly recommended.

We went on a short holiday to Barcelona last weekend. If you ever go there, you might want to visit ‘Barcelóna’, a tapas bar along the Carrer del Commerç. They have a wide variety of Basque-style tapas called pintxos, bite-sized pieces of bread piled with various combinations of meat, cheese, fish and vegetables held together with a cocktail stick. You serve yourself from large plates at the bar. The price is calculated later depending on the number and length of the cocktail sticks you gathered, a bit like those differenty coloured plates in a sushi bar.
