Something appears to be missing from the Anyone who tells you that XHTML buys you anything at all is most likely selling you snake oil rant. XHTML is often the result of an XML-based workflow. As an output format it may not buy you much beyond HTML 4, but in my experience, using XML source documents and XSLT surely does.
